Don't delay but it's never too late

This entry will be briefer than the last. Don't delay getting into something new with your dog. You don't have to compete. You don't even have to take training classes. Just get started having fun and working with your dog. Take if from the voice of experience. If you wait, you are likely to find out too late how much fun you could have been having. You could end up looking back on how many different things you could have done. Don't put it off.

At the same time, it's never too late to start. Dogs and humans of all ages can get involved in all sorts of fun activities together. Training doesn't require that you perform at the highest levels or even that you compete at all. The point is to increase the bond with your dog. Get started training to expand your dogs education or start participating in something that will benefit your community or Greyhound adoption. Don't think that just because you have an older dog you have to sit back and let the youngsters have all the fun. It ain't so!

My dogs and I are not exactly high achievers. We are not the Border Collies of the Greyhound world. Actually, I don't even compete in anything with my dogs. That doesn't stop us from getting out there, learning new things, having fun working and playing together. Again, the voice of experience here, you can have a blast even if you aren't competitive. And do not let the fact that you've got the only Greyhound or even the only sighthound there stop you from participating. You'll miss all the fun that way.

Have you seen or heard of something you thought would be fun or interesting to do with your dog? Well... what are you waiting for? Come on. Let's play!
